It gives me great feelings of accomplishment to earn the position of Director Sales & Marketing in 2004 and COO position in 2016 in RGP, where I joined as a Marketing Manager & Founder member of the team who laid foundation of the RGP in 1999. During the last twenty-three years, collaborating with my bosses, peers, and sub-ordinates is a part of my lifetime good memories and I learned from everybody who associated with me at any position during my career.
The CEO – who is currently Chairman of the company – had given me a new assignment to make RGP Factory functional. It was a great challenge for me who have only sales & marketing experience throughout the career. The Chairman reminded me the AIM of factory that, “Quality supersede productivity and profitability” as we were already doing in all areas of the RGP since its launch.
Over the years, I have learned that if an organization cannot execute its operating principles , working SOPs and Business Plans effectively then nothing else matters: not the well-designed strategy, not the most innovative business model, and not even the technological breakthrough that could transform an industry. It means; what really differentiates the companies that can get things done day-by-day and deliver consistent quality results are those whose execution is outstanding. Moreover, leadership must regularly identify the execution gaps, if any, and then fill the gaps well in time.
Consequently, we decided to habituate our teams to focus on implementation of SOPs of nutraceutical manufacturing to ensure that a wide range of activities i.e., Procurement, Production, Quality control & assurance, and finish goods release are being performed correctly and effectively as per SOPs in practice. The Quality in the pharma industry is directly improved by employing SOPs that streamline workflows and eliminate unnecessary steps. This can lead to increased productivity and reduced costs and off course best QUALITY as well. Unfortunately, in practice SOP in the pharma industry are too often constructed and implemented for Regulatory purposes only. As a result, they have been built for years as “houses to which one would add a room for each life event,” gradually losing their overall coherence.
SOPs are part of the industrial documentation which is essential to the proper functioning of a plant. SOP helps ensure the Quality and Safety of the products by providing clear instructions to perform tasks that who will do what and what not. Therefore, our emphasis is to draft SOPs under the supervision of our all HoDs and then SOP-Vigilance Team (SVT) assure religious implementation step-by-step, vigilantly to assure QUALITY. We believe that when you provide QUALITY, profitability is bound to come.
